Some suggestions from design and user experience point of view.
Most of the suggestions from me are from design aspect of Feedspot. Homepage design is way awesome guys !!! Keep rotating background image over there which will change daily, just like Bing ;)
When user click on "Down Arrow" besides his profile pic then the sub menu pop-ups. But to hide sub menu he again needs to click on that small arrow which sometimes is frustrating and increases click events. So I Would recommend that when user click on outside that sub-menu then that sub menu should get close.
For changing profile pic > There should be direct upload there itself instead of navigating user to another page for uploading picture. It will decrease number of click events. Also if you could provide option to review or crop uploaded image then that would be way awesome.
"Discover sites" section needs to be properly aligned. Most of the space on right side is getting wasted. Make good use of that or else make everything centered aligned.
When user enters into "Import Feeds" section there there is just one way for user to go to Home page and that is Back Button of browser. Why you are disabling other menus of website ?
In "Find Friends" page. Even if I put any random data and click on "Send Invites" then also invitations are being sent. Email validations needs to be there. Also utilize left size of this page instead of keeping it blank. I Would recommend to use pop up window for "Import Feeds" & " Find Friends" section instead of going to another page.
"Keyboard Shortcuts" pop-up is not getting popped-up when I'm click on it when I'm in diff page. ex. When I'm in account setting page and then click on "Keyboard Shortcut" then nothing is happening. Please check whether same case is there for other pages too.
In "Accounts setting" it says that bio should be of 150 characters. But you should stop user when he exceeds 150. I'm able to insert more than 150. (But after saving it saves only first 150 ) Use reverse counter instead.
Work more on "Popularity" and "Keyboard shortcuts" pop-up. They are very basic.
Now in feed section on homepage.
> I'm not able to clearly differentiate between two feeds, it looks like long story books with headlines. If you can change color of alternate feed row then it will look good and more user friendly.
> Also one line space wasted between title of feed and social share icons. Utilize that space.
Use web form for contact us page instead of opening email client. Not all of the users have email client configured on their system.
Add at least something in footer. Blank footer doesn't look good. You can include API, Contact Us, RSS, blog things in footer.
Thats it for a day :)
